Kochi: An Emirates flight bound for Dubai was forced to return to Kochi after Dubai International Airport briefly suspended operations following a security concern.
The aircraft, operating as Emirates flight EK533, had departed from Cochin International Airport early in the morning with more than 300 passengers on board. While the flight was on its way to Dubai, the crew received information that the airport had temporarily halted flight movements due to a security-related situation.
Following the update, the pilots decided to turn the aircraft back to Kochi as a precaution. The flight later landed safely at Cochin International Airport, and passengers remained on board while authorities monitored the situation.
Airport officials said the flight would continue its journey once normal operations resumed at Dubai International Airport and the necessary clearance was received.
The temporary disruption affected several flights scheduled to arrive at Dubai, prompting airlines to delay or divert some services until airport operations returned to normal.
